Colony is a city in Denton County, Texas and a suburb of Dallas. The latest population census is around 43,402. Colony obtained its name from Peters Colony, the original name of the area. The headquarters of Peters Colony was situated in the current boundaries of the Colony. The city is also the site of various historical sites such as Stewarts Creek, Stoverville, and Bridges Settlement.
